Meet Facilitator, Consultant & Coach, Dennis Jepsen
Dennis Jepsen has over twenty-five years of experience as a manager, management consultant, facilitator and trainer. His focus has been on management, organizational effectiveness, and marketing/branding in retail sales, production, and customer service delivery operations. In addition to managing, Dennis has prior experience as a presenter/coach/trainer.
In his role as a manager and consultant, he has studied and successfully implemented leading management, human resources, and marketing research practices in a range of different settings, including retail automotive, banking, health care, and financial services.
Dennis has worked as a sales manager and general manager in two large automobile dealerships; one with approximately 120 employees, where he was also part-owner, and the other with 220 employees. Under his management, the dealership maintained a leadership position in sales in its area of geographic responsibility, and also became a leader in customer satisfaction ratings. Dennis’ areas of strength were organization development, human resources, and marketing.
Dennis is currently sole proprietor of Jepsen and Associates, offering consulting services primarily to the automobile industry. He has worked as a consultant with Deiss and Associates (a small, independent consulting firm specializing in retail automotive network development), and as a managing consultant for The Gallup Organization, whose focus was primarily on Fortune 1000 firms.
Dennis’ clients while working at Deiss included individual dealers, importers, and manufacturers in the US, Europe, and Asia. A few of the projects included:
- Project leader for the Sales Operations, and Advertising and Promotion sections of the Saturn (General Motors) Dealer Operating System (business processes).
- Consultant/facilitator in the Chevrolet Service Supremacy implementation initiative, a nationwide customer service improvement initiative for Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors.
- Lead developer, author, and project leader of the Chevrolet sales ROS (Retail Operating System), which subsequently became the basis for the General Motors ROS.
- Project leader for a retail network development project for a Mercedes-Benz importer in Southeast Asia.
- Dennis’ experience with The Gallup Organization entailed the delivery of Gallup’s organizational solutions to companies such as American Airlines, Children’s Hospitals, Clorox, Genentech, Standard Register, Toyota and Wells Fargo.
Dennis’ most recent consulting experience is working with Toyota and Toyota dealers in applying Toyota production system continuous improvement processes to the retail dealership environment.
